Martin Gregus Jr, is the youngest member of the Gregus Creactive Group. Currently, living in Vancouver, Canada Martin was born into a family of artists in Bratislava, Slovakia.
He can see things and stories far beyond the reality of everyday life; a gift which is reflected in his wildlife photographs which are full of detail and natural dynamics. The creative transformation of nature and the environment into graphic and color symbols are some of the elements that give his work endless visual power. Aside from spending hours crawling in mud; custom made photography equipment, hides, remote cameras and camera cars often help Martin get the perfect shot.
Martin's work has been recognized in some of the world's most prestigious contests. In 2008 at the age of 11, Martin's "White on Blue" image was specially commended at the Natural History Museum Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition in London UK. Where again in 2010 his image "Crane Perfection" was the winner of the 11-14 category. Since 2010 Martin's photographs and films have been awarded and published through various magazines and competitions including Canadian Geographic and Photo Life Magazine.
In 2012 Martin has exhibited his documentary and street photography in Slovakia's most prestigious art gallery; he has given many presentations and speeches about photography in schools and museums, and even led a photography youth camp for the Royal BC Museum in Victoria, Canada. Today Martin is a a full member of the ICG 699 where he works as a DOP and drone pilot; with over five years experience operating drones in some truly remote and spectacular places across Canada, Europe, and the South Pacific. His company AviaEye is fully licensed by the Canadian Government to operate anywhere in Canada.
Over the years Martin has joined his father in the creation of a variety of projects and companies and together they create a team that is unmatched in the field. Martin and his company MatkoPictures are proud to work along side PhotoFabrica and AviaEye in bringing you the best service possible.
